Herbal Vaporizers

Vaporizers are a great alternative for people who smoke. A herbal vaporizer emits no smoke and the person using a vaporizer stands no risk of inhaling smoke, unlike with smoking. Our intention is to impress upon you the benefits of using a vaporizer instead of smoking, which is harmful for the health.

Now that vaporizers are sold in plenty in the market, most people, especially those who smoke, would have heard of vaporizers, but may not really know much about them.

What are Vaporizers?
A vaporizer is a device used to inhale the essence of a particular herb or a combination of herbs, be it tobacco or other herbs, without inhaling smoke. Vaporizers work in total contrast to smoking, where smoke is released.

Smoke is not released because vaporizers heat herbs at a temperature below combustion, releasing only the essence or flavor of the herbs.

Benefits of using a vaporizer
Vaporizers help inhale only the good stuff in the herbs, since the temperature does not reach combustion level and herbs are not being burnt. This ensures that no smoke is inhaled into our lungs, as in smoking. While vaporizing provides the benefits of the essential elements of the herbs used, it eliminates the bad effects that smoke
causes.

How convenient are vaporizers?
They certainly are not as small as a cigarette or a pipe that can be stuffed into a pocket or a wallet. While most of the latest vaporizers are portable and can be carried anywhere with ease, they certainly are larger than their smoking counterparts.

It must be reiterated that the benefits of a vaporizer far outweigh other aspects. Even if one does not wish to carry them everywhere, beginning to use a vaporizer when at home instead of smoking can prove to be exceedingly beneficial to health.
Different Types of Vaporizers
Vaporizers are basically available in two models, the convection and the remote heating models.

There are several good units available in the market and some use the convection while some use remote heating to vaporize. Let’s take a look at how both these methods work.

1.) Convection Method - The convection method heats the herbs with the aid of a heating element. This heating element heats air first and then the heated air is drawn over the herbs to produce the beautiful essence of the herbs. This essence is then inhaled. The functionality is quite simple. When we inhale air through the tube of the vaporizer, the air passes over the heating element, and this hot air passes over the herbs, which forms into a vapor or essence, which is then inhaled by us.

2.) Remote Heating - Remote heating uses the same principle used in the convection method. The difference is that the heating element is not part of the vaporizer unit and is separate. Heat is released from the metal or ceramic heating element to heat the herbs and release their essence.
The only disadvantage with remote heating elements is that the temperature of the herbs cannot be controlled by the user, depending on the rate of inhalation, which is possible with the convection heating vaporizers. With the fond hope that you have understood all about vaporization, for those of you that wish to know it all, let us go a little deeper and see how vaporization occurs (without being too technical.)

How Does Vaporization Occur
Vapor is the gas form of water. When heat is applied to a liquid at its boiling point, the molecules which are bound together become loose and free themselves from forces that bind them together, and escape as individual molecules to form vapor. We know this process as “boiling.” Every substance has a certain amount of heat that is needed in order for vaporization to occur, which is known as “latent heat of vaporization”.

Similarly, specific herbs will vaporize at certain temperature. This knowledge will help in understanding the principles of vaporization and ensure that the temperature setting on the vaporizes is used properly to maximize the vaporizing experience.

There are several units in the market that have digitally adjustable thermostats and display the temperature, making it easier for the user to fine tune the setting.

We are bound to let you know that FDA has not yet approved the use of vaporization of herbs and any information provided to you is for your knowledge and to be used at your discretion and risk.

Why Use A Vaporizer?

Burning herbs through combustion is being practiced for centuries and is the oldest method known to man, and is known as smoking.
Herbs are heated to extremely high temperatures and get burned in the process and converted into smoke. A large percentage of active ingredients contained in the herbs are destroyed.

This smoke inhaled causes more harm than good, due to the many side effects that are extremely bad for health. The tar coats our lungs and contributes to many types of cancers. Heart attacks and strokes may be caused due to the increase in blood pressure and heart rate that puts a strain on the heart and blood vessels.

Fortunately, for smokers, there is an alternative solution, which is much safer. Imagine being able to feel the essence of a herb without the smoke associated with smoking.

Vaporizing is a wonderful substitute to smoking that also allows the user to gain the benefits of the active ingredients contained in herbs.
